I worked for two companies - LDMTS and AST LLC. I was with LDMTS for a couple of years, nice company, wonderful team, and wonderful owner...When the Nuance crash happened, I had to find another job. but went back to LDMTS when Nuance got their crap up and running. I picked up AST LLC to make more money, Editscript again. When the VDI first came out, I loaded it on my computer, and had THREE different tech people (two from India) in my computer trying to get my foot pedal to work....The deadline was coming and I was so stressed....no foot pedal would work on either company. Then on Thanksgiving Day, I found a job locally doing straight transcription for one doctor and paid amazingly by the hour in their office. Granted there are a few drawbacks, the office gets noisy, the computer sound system is awful, and the doctor cuts off the beginning of his dictation, BUT!!!! I got Christmas off with pay, and I am away from the dragon-speaking Nuance...and I will never, ever return. Found another side gig so I can write off some of my home equipment still, and that is a company called Rev.com. You are paid by the audio minute and you can choose jobs and work when you want, or not. VDI and Nuance were going to kill me, I know. I praise the Lord I got away finally.
