This is what I do when I lose audio in VDI - F

Go to green desktop icon at the bottom of screen, click on settings/preferences.
Click on virtual machine. Save now.
It will show a little box restoring the virtual machine. Then I can go back to my job. This works for me, I don't know if it will work for you.
