3M and MM - Confused

What do you mean by teaming up? 3M has been manufacturing coding software for decades and a lot of facilities use it but it hasn't affected anything except to provide coding aids. Does 3M own MM now or vice versa? The issue has not been discussed because once again people didn't stay on topic and got all worked up over the use of affect versus effect.
