Affect was the right verb - sm

It is correct to say will affect coding, etc.

You would use effect as an active verb in a sentence such as "I am going to effect (bring about/create) a change in policy." But "how will this affect (influence) policy?" So it's create versus influence.

If you said "how will this effect (bring about/create) policy?" you would be asking something totally different.

And then, of course, there is "the policy change did not have the intended effect." :)

And "the patient has a sad affect."

One of the most confusing words in the English language if you ask me.

Anyway, I guess it remains to be seen what effect (lol) if any the 3M/MModal deal will have. I guess minimal if MModal's service side just carries on as before somewhat independently from the technology/3M side, obviously more so if 3M/MModal decide together to get out of the service side of the industry completely. It will be interesting to see, though.
