I still say the burden is on them - if it was that valuable, they wanted it back so badly, let them track it and pay for shipping.

I was with a company once who provided computers, and they sent a label right away for me when I was ready to pack it up.

Manager even told me, make sure to ship it right away because you wouldnt get your last check until you do.

Whatever that computer is or was worth, if they try to make her pay for it, she can counter sue for storage fees.

Come off of it. If she wants to play the fake professionalism game, she can send an email to ask about it. No response in 30 days, computer goes to the trash.
