If you go the coding route, make sure you're working in a hospital so when you get finished with coding classes, you can transfer. Otherwise, you won't get a job in a hospital. They want experienced coders only. I painstakingly learned and paid a trade school to learn coding. Couldn't get a job in a hospital because I had no coding experience yet had tons of transcription and other medical experience. I flushed my dough down the porcelain throne, as did many others, so check your local hospitals first and see if you're hireable when finished with school.
