Don't think you need an official termination notice, but if you file for TAA you probably have to have some indication you have been laid off.
I have been filing UE even though I still am employed, did not get laid off (wish I would have). I just follow the protocol every day and there has been no work, but if there is work, I can still get partial.
I am all set up for when they do lay the rest of us off, my guess is next week when the new CEO takes over. Here's hoping anyway.
