with no benefits, companies would start you off around $.09 a line to make up for the lack of benefits and to cover the associated costs of being an IC.

Now they're offering newb MT rates for ICs and absolutely not compensating for associated costs of being an IC, much less benefits costs.

This is why it's very important MTs evaluate and think strongly before considering jobs at these low line rates as to NOT get in trouble with taxes and owing the IRS or your state.

You definitely won't be able to afford much at those low rates, and you will not be eligible for UE as an IC.
