they want to keep us impovershed - it is built in Posted: Aug 5th, 2017 - 10:57 pm In Reply to: Their bottom line is minimum wage - ihatethem
They eliminated overtime, incentives, bonuses, shift differentials...everything that made giving up having any kind of life outside work tolerable. Those things clearly made financial sense to the overseers at some point. It used to be that if you were willing to sacrifice weekends, holidays, and work nights and extra hours, it was voluntary and you were getting your bills paid, feeding your children and saving something for the future. It used to be that working "production" meant if you were very fast and willing to work at a breakneck pace, you could actually break even and get ahead. Then they realized they could make all of us do all of that for free, totally burn ourselves out by burning the candle at both ends 24/7. So, as for deliberately keeping us impoverished, they made it so absolutely no one could make a living wage by working One Transcription Job Only. No extras, no way to work harder and make more, ever. Because they clearly want us to give up and go away so they can sell their crap to take our place whether healthcare providers want it or not.
