I see so many incorrectly spelled words that I start questioning myself and spend too much time double checking. In the beginning days, ASR had a fixed spelling dictionary, and if a word, usually a new instrument or device, was spelled incorrectly in the output, you would inform the ASR IT team and they would fix the dictionary. I know that because I worked with one of the ASR ITs. Then it went to India...... No more fixed dictionary, the MTs will train it. Nope. Between newbies, ILPs and brain farts caused by ASR editing white line hypnosis, a lot of misspellings keep passing on through. Some misspellings that I see, though, as far as instruments, just have to be laziness, and some that continually come through must be ignorance. It is EtOH, not ETOH!
