When I say "Old MT", I mean it. I took a test for a "general transcription" place and passed the first two parts. Then came the transcription part. Very simple dictation that I could do in nothing flat, but my foot pedal doesn't work and I am definitely NOT into computers, so I don't have a clue how to make it work. I can hear the dictation but it just keeps going and going and the foot pedal does nothing. I guess I'm too old to even try to test for an MT job any more. I have talked on the phone with two friends and they can't help me either-- both of them are old ladies, too, and they don't have a clue what to do either as they are not MTs and have never used a foot pedal. I guess I might just as well give up.
