Second Survey: SR production vs straight typing production - Can you do 2:1 or not?

Posted: Mar 25th, 2017 - 4:12 pm

As you probably know, the rationale for paying you HALF the line rate for SR editing as you are paid for straight typing is that SR companies have sold the story that you can edit twice as many lines as you can type.  (This is specious logic anyway, because it's the KNOWLEDGE that you bring to every line - however it is produced - that YOU SHOULD BE PAID FOR.

That aside, can you RELIABLY edit twice as many lines as you can type?  I'm not referring to the occasional stretch of great dictators who sail through SR with few edits required.  I'm talking about the course of an entire day or an entire week.

PLEASE HIT "LIKE" IF YOU DO RELIABLY EDIT TWICE AS MANY LINES AS YOU CAN TYPE.

PLEASE HIT "DISLIKE" IF YOU CANNOT RELIABLY EDIT TWICE AS MANY LINES AS YOU CAN TYPE.

If you like you can leave a reply indicating what the approximate edit/type ratio is - for instance, 350 lines/225 lines or 325 lines/180 lines etc.

Thanks!
