Take your personal time and then walk away. My mother had VERY SERIOUS health issues requiring open heart surgery in November and both my TSM and HER boss were aware of it. NEITHER wished her well, etc., ANYTHING. If they thought that little of me, why would I respect them any more than that? I used my PTO and never looked back. They never called or e-mailed to find out how she was doing or what was going on or even if I was coming back. My extent of communication was to approve my payroll/PTO. Finis!
