Sweatshopworker - I agree with you that it is not our job to verify EVERY SINGLE VALUE that the physician, PA, NP, etc. dictates. On top of the fact that they are the paid professionals, they have either a paper file, EHR/EMR, or both to LOOK AT and READ information from. The MT, on the other hand, has only a voice recording to work with. Reports in previous report lookup can be and often are wrong and, at least from my perspective, most of my accounts don't even have repository reports available. Even if they do, you can't rely on the accuracy of the repository reports. I recently questioned the wording/format of something in a report and every single repository report was worded/formatted differently!

If I think something is wrong with a value dictated, I by all means will flag it, but again, the high paid professional has the chart and should have the proper values in front of his/her eyes to dictate. If the value is within a reasonable range, why would we question it?

I despise this job more and more and want to cry every time I have to sit in my chair to start work. I do need to put more effort into finding another job, but it's just not as easy as some try to make it sound.
