This is in Shorthand 10 using Word 2010.

{@KEY Alt+H}{@KEY F}{@KEY S}{@KEY 8}{@KEY Enter}This is the first day of the rest of your life.

Everything that is in brackets gets there by hitting Ctl/K first (before each bracketed entry).

Any questions, just ask. I tried it, and it works. If you need to return to your normal font after your entry, that can be done.
