Becoming an IC - Nezzi Posted: Oct 20th, 2016 - 4:13 pm
I have been an MT for 15+ years and just recently left the field and got a job outside of my home (for only 8 months), because my mother was diagnosed with dementia and is now living with me and my family. I quit my job and am back home to take care of her. I see that a lot of the job postings are for independent contractor. Do I need to register as a business to become an IC or can I just work as an IC without going through all the hassle? Which company is the best to work for either employee or IC? I was also thinking about general transcription and applied for one, but wondering if that is any better than medical transcription.
