I support all that you are trying to do. As a disclaimer, I don't work for any of the MTSOs but have an onsite job that is pretty awful. The pay is good, but trying to deal with the daily office drama is very demoralizing so at least you don't have to deal with that. The only thing I would say is that an employer doesn't need cause to fire you or lay you off, that's arbitrary for most employers. I have to agree with lynlou if this is worth fighting for, just because of the industry trend toward VR and EHR, that is never going to be reversed. As long as people work in their own homes, it is going to be difficult to change working conditions. Regardless, good luck with your efforts.
