Nuance just laid off all their Cali MTs. I suspect Mmodal will follow suit. That should answer the question is there a growing demand for MTs.

As extra income working as an MT might be okay. However, I would not spend money for an MT course.

Also Nuance and Mmodal expect you to stick to a schedule. The days of flexibility are gone.
