Honestly, I don't know much but I know that i'm looking for a new job. These merges or takeovers are never a good thing. In my experience, they start out okay, then all of a sudden you're being taken off the accounts you work on and given new, horrible work, and you end up making less money than before, between the new accounts and the new company paying less than the previous company.
It sucks, but it is what it is...protect yourself and your income, as I will be, and as others should do.
