I work PT, 3 days a week -- 7, 5, and 8 hr shifts (longest shift Fridays) - Anne

It has worked out to be the best schedule I've had since I started with MedQuist nearly 9 years ago (and my schedule has been ALL over the place). I've used nearly all my NJA/No Pay time, however, with some lack of work issues (really NOT a fan of the idea of the swap board), but things seem to be picking up now (fingers crossed it lasts). I've never really had a huge issue with asking for unpaid time off, although I do put in my requests pretty far in advance. A bit easier to work things around my shifts since I'm working just 20 hours, so I don't have to ask for a lot of time off. I agree with those posting here -- PT is a great option to keep your sanity, still make a bit of money, and do a job you actually LIKE when you don't feel like it's taking over your life. :-) Hope it works out for ya!
