We are not slaves. We have knowledge and skills and experience that will transfer. Many MTs have gone on to coding, medical assistants, nurses and one even became a doctor. You are only stuck if you choose to be stuck. Some may choose to stay because they are close to retirement but others are choosing to revamp the resume, get some computer skills, take some college classes, visit the workforce/temp agencies and see what other jobs are available from home. Even those who are choosing to stay are being creative with selling items on ebay or budgeting to be able to retire sooner.
Just because Mmodal does not appreciate your skills (nor pay for them) does not mean that other employers are the same. There is no need to base your self-worth on a company that only knows you as a number. We as employees have let them treat us like slaves. That does not mean we are slaves.
