Jealousy, lack of self-worth, the inverse of "I've got mine, I don't care if you've got yours," which is "I am losing mine, by god you will not have yours."
The economics are such that they really can raise the prices nominally and actually pay their workers $15 an hour IF THEY CUT BACK ON THE OUTRAGEOUS CORPORATE PROFITS.
Of course, this is going to be more difficult for smaller mom and pops, but there are positives to the overall economy if people have more money to participate more business will walk in their doors also.
