There are plenty of MTs at Nuance who would work for 7 cents IF there were other benefits of the job. Flexibility in schedule, being able to turn to QA for HELP and not punishment, more of a laid back, family atmosphere...all of those things are something I would factor in for 7 cents a line. I once worked for peanuts for a physician because it was just a joy to work there. He was easy to type, flexible with my schedule, and he would leave little notes saying how much he appreciated my hard work. Wish I had that job back! But then that was about 20 years ago at that price.

To be honest, I'd rather work for less without having to sacrifice being a mom or just being human than work under slave conditions for more, in the hopes that eventually it would start to trickle up. As it is, I'm working under slave conditions, making peanuts, and I don't have any of that other great stuff. Pout.
