Mayo is hiring and spells out exactly how it works - MTnow

Yes, it's a supplemental pool. There are no benefits while you're in the pool. You choose your hours/days that work for you and they plug you into where help is needed for those time frames. There are permanent full-time positions that arise often and are posted to supplemental pool to apply. Many supplemental MTs are only in the pool for a couple of months before being hired for permanent full time work (or part time, your choice). Wages are hourly and competitive based on your work history. Most start around $20-$22/hr. Each month, a new group of new hires go through the same. There are RARELY any out-of-work situations, and when there are, there is always a good backup plan. Very organized and intuitive company all the way. You are sent all the equipment you need as well as the tech support to back it up. You (and a family member if desired) are flown all expenses paid to MN for a week of orientation, training and health screening. You have a professional photograph taken for your ID badge. Day 1 of orientation is about 250+ people including physicians, nurses, medical support, MTs, administrative, Life Flight pilots, etc. Day 2 is your MT group introduction to the system and applications. The other days are for paperwork and health screens including TB testing as well as any sight seeing. Back home, you are in continued training on the phone and Skype with your group for about 2 weeks. Even after training is finished and you're "on your own", you are in touch with actual people (supervisors, QA, peers, etc.), which is very unlike the other remote MT companies. Everyone is very supportive, helpful, encouraging, POSITIVE. There are newsletters, contests, games, meetings, conference calls, etc. You are part of the Mayo team, not just out there isolated and alone. You get regular US Mail from Mayo. Your supervisor calls just to see how you're doing and if you need anything, and you have regular one-on-one calls. Most feel that being supplemental for a short time is really a small price to pay to work for such an incredible company. I posted this because there's a lot of misinformation out there about this Mayo MT opportunity. Best of luck!
