I recently applied at SD for an MT position and was notified they weren't any openings but they had regular transcription positions open. You were paid by the audio minute and it was straight transcription doing meetings, etc. She said they got a huge new account and needed people desperately.
They also promote from within, so if you are an MT and an opening comes up, you could switch over.
I considered it, but had to buy Word Professional, some sort of VPN license and special earphones. I don't like spending money to work for a company, been there. She also said you didn't make a lot at first, but can increase as time goes on and you could work as much as you want.
You can check it out, but if it isn't an MT position, I would rethink it.
