Depends on where you live...sm - Tanya

We live in Marion County, FL. DH has Freedom Health which is an advantage plan. It covers almost 100% of his expenses ($25 copay for specialist, larger copay for hospitalization). His meds are all free. Plus he gets $82 a month of his Medicare premium back in his SS check each month.

People claim not to like advantage plans because "I can't pick my own MD," but he has a kidney specialist who is the best in addition to his GP who is gold. He's had referrals to a cardiologist and an oncologist who treated him well and seemed to know what they were talking about. The book they send out with MDs in it is about an inch thick. If you can't find a doctor in there...well, anyway, Freedom Health is available in a limited number of counties in Florida.

My sister has an advantage plan in Henderson County, NC, but I can't remember the name of it offhand. She's had a bilateral mastectomy, colon surgery, some other surgery I can't remember, and goes next month for a hip replacement. All pretty much paid in full.

Look for an advantage plan in your area. https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/medicare/compare-advantage-plans lists plans and you can find one there.
