i am right there in that same space every time i have to work. nearly dysfunctional. most of the time i can buck up and deal and just keep plugging along. when i can't, i walk away, do some dishes, laundry, grab a beer, whatever it takes. i have even logged off and gone for a drive when it has become especially unbearable.
