I did the same thing. Hit a rough period where my income as an MT was not enough and I was too young for early retirement. I had assistance with the bills and got to know nearly every food pantry where I was then living. In the eyes of society, I was probably a failure, but in my eyes I was doing what I needed to do to survive.

Hope things turn around for you soon.
