I always used transcription headphones until my son got me a pair (he's into music) that I LOVE! They are Sennheiser HD 201 over the ear with very padded cushions and blocks all external sounds out well.... Love them. Broke my last pair and wouldn't get anything else :-) Got online for 25.00... best I ever had
