Being of legal mind and doing some work with contract law and small businesses these days, I might also mention that it would not hurt to check out their D&B. That, too, can provide good information. If you are not a member of D&B (and most individual MTs would not be), you will have to pay a fee to use the service, but it is another option to do some background checking. Perhaps the company you are checking is not a member of D&B, in which case, it won't be of much help, but it is just another idea. Here is the link: http://www.dnb.com/
