My thoughts, for what they are worth. I remember when I got hired when it was then Medquist about 10 years ago. I remember the recruiter saying if the holiday fell on your regular day to work, you worked it or asked for it off, but not everyone could have the day off. I took the job with that understanding. I am not fond of working the holidays; I usually ask for either Thanksgiving or Christmas off, sometimes neither depending on what we might be doing. I work all the other minor holidays I call them, Labor Day, Fourth of July, etc. I don't like being bounced around and I know my line count will suck for the day. I hope I can run out of work early; sometimes I do; sometimes I work the whole day. But it is what I agreed to all those years back; it is what it is; no matter how much we might not like it.
