have not biopsied, so I do not know if he has high s/l VAN or VIC levels - momandmore

Posted: Feb 12, 2013

Patient has HIV and is status post acute kidney injury:

He has had no evidence for cryoglobulinemia or hypocomplementemia.  It will be interesting to see what his protein has done with improvement in his HIV parameters.  As per previous notes, I have not biopsied him.  Therefore, I do not know whether he has a high s/l VAN, high s/l VIC, or whether this is diabetic related kidney disease.  However, it would not change his management at this time.

Sounds like...sm - MT

it possibly might have something to do with IgA and IVIG ??

I do not know if he has high sounds like "van or vic" levels.

I cannot figure out what van or vic would be? Vancomycin trough levels perhaps? But that still is me guessing . . . vic as well . . .

that wouldn't have anything to do with a biopsy though - sm

what are they biopsying for?

kidney biopsy - momandmore

[ In Reply To ..]
Patient has HIV and is status post acute kidney injury. They are doing biopsy to determine if he has high sounds like "van" or high sounds like "vic" or whether it will show diabetic related kidney disease.

okay the first one is HIVAN - HIV associated nephropathy

[ In Reply To ..]
so the second is probably something like HIVIC

thank you - momandmore

[ In Reply To ..]
Ohhhh thank you! Researching now and listening again to see if that VIC level can be uncovered . . .
there's also a HIVIC - nm

Does Anyone Know Exactly How Many Levels
Dec 11, 2013

Of transcribing/editing a job goes through before making it back to the client?  For example, does it go overseas first and then back to us and we fix what they left behind? Or do we get the job first?  Who does the audits...an actual human or is it ran through some program first? I think a lot of what mm does is hidden from us.  Would not surprise me. ...

Upgrading Tier Levels...
Apr 12, 2012

I have been encouraged time and again to test for Tier level II.  Yes, I am Tier 1 and like my client and the work so want to stay here, but took a huge cut in pay and now my super says work will be shifting and I may not have work available.  Okay, so I took the Tier level II test TWICE--the first time with a bad attitude, but the second time I really took my time and still did not pass (scored 100% on the multiple choice and 96% on the transcription test)...I have been transcrib ...

Serious Question Re Work Levels. (sm)
Apr 18, 2012

I've seen something mentioned on here about putting DEP after your username to check how much work there is in the system, and something about someone sending out reports of how much work there is... probably the CCM I guess. I'm newish and I have NEVER seen a report of how much work there is and the DEP thing doesn't work when I try it (it says contact my supervisor for permission). Is my CCM supposed to send out a report of available work? Does anyone know this for sure? I d ...

You'd Think 2 Levels Of QA Would Make A Good ILP Report.
Mar 02, 2012

I just QAd an ILP report that I was only supposed to fill in the blanks, but I saw a major error near the blank, so I did a 100% review.  I found 32 errors, 17 of them were critical with missing phrases, words, and just plain making up what they thought they heard.  I checked the travel details of the report and it went through 2 levels of ILP QA before it got to me!  Why are we losing our jobs to them?  Oh, yeah, the suits make more money.  Never mind the patient with " ...

High VR Producers Who Do 400-700 LPH, Can You Say
Jan 24, 2010

I know some of you have taken a bashing, but I'm a believer and admire your skill.  I am curious about your definition of a line and how long you've had the same account(s).   I think most posters assume lines are defined at 65 characters including spaces, but that's not always the case (especially for those who work directly for hospitals or clinics, which many times are 60-character lines or less and include headers, footers, demos, etc.)   Can you give us an ide ...

To High Producers On M*Modal
Nov 04, 2010

I wondered if any of you who are good at M*Modal can give me some good pointers on getting faster with this program.  I have been working on it for about 6 months and don't feel I am gaining any speed on it at all.  The whole thing for me is having to reattach the cursor to the highlighter that is giving me the most trouble.  It is just awkward and such a stretch to hit that F12 key to reattach each time I have to make a correction.  I would be forever grateful!! :) &nb ...

Regarding What Constitutes High Production -sm
Jan 19, 2011

Thanks all for your thoughts on the "salary/wage expectations" thread below.  I am still hoping to see more opinions on the subject, but there were some references to production and even "high producers," hence my query concerning what you all think constitues a "high producer" versus average.  I am inclined to consider 200 lines per hour as a good producer but not high.  What are your thoughts - understanding, of course, that all accounts differ in difficulty.  However, wean ...

Taking The High Road
Oct 01, 2014

Just gave my 2 weeks without giving a justification.  Upon reciept, I was asked why.  I decided I'd give my why on the high road, but man was it tempting to just let it all fly in a manner be fitting a swarm of angry bees.  Here's my response. In the years I've been with the company, the corporate culture has changed dramatically.  I feel as though M*Modal is no longer a good match for where I am currently nor where I'm going in the future.  I value ...
