1:1000 Epinephrine?
Aug 26, 2010

I have a report here on an excision of a mass on the cheek.  This dictator talks very fast, but in the anesthesia section, it sounds like he is saying Xylocaine with 1:1000 epinephrine.  I have never heard anything below 1:100,000 before, but it sure sounds like 1000.  Is it used like that, or is he just talking too fast?  Thank you! ...

Conglomerate Added Approximately 6 New
Oct 04, 2010

That is what I have done most of the morning.  No cheat sheets, nothing in Repository, no prior reports to look at.  Got a surgeon talking 90 miles an hour.  I have about 12 QA markers so far.  Will re-listen to it and try to hear ANYTHING else.  Straight typing -- but all I am doing is giving ASR some reports to go by and then it will be all ASR as the others have been, so I am TRAINING ASR for the account.  I can't send these things through or my behind will ...

Xylocaine Prn S/l Staph coaliginase Prior To Domomer
May 03, 2011

This is dictated in the med list:  Xylocaine prn s/l staph coaliginase prior to domomer on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have no idea what this could mean.  He could be butchering staph coagulase in the first part, but I still have not idea how that fits in.  The second part seems like a dialysis schedule and the word sounds like it starts with a "d", but can't really hear dialysis. Any ideas?? ...

Aug 01, 2011

I posted about different career choices and a lot of people responded about nursing and radiology tech, but no one responded regarding dental assisting as an option.  I used to make 20-25 an hour doing MT.  Now I am down to 16 an hour and sitting around waiting for work, etc.  I am just looking for a comfortable job that pays about the same as I was making as an MT.  I have researched dental assisting and found that it is a good career.  Dentists are utilizing DA's ...
