epinephrine 1:100,000 105 mg - newbieairhead

Posted: Jun 09, 2010

Sorry, I am having an airhead moment. I have a doctor dictating epinephrine 1:100,000 105 mg. What is the correct way to transcribe that since numbers are not supposed to be next to each other like that. Any help is appreciated!

I don't think that is correct.... - Kelley

I think 105 mg is either not heard correctly or a mistake was made. There is no 105 mg dose of epinephrine that I am aware of.

1:1000 Epinephrine?

I have a report here on an excision of a mass on the cheek.  This dictator talks very fast, but in the anesthesia section, it sounds like he is saying Xylocaine with 1:1000 epinephrine.  I have never heard anything below 1:100,000 before, but it sure sounds like 1000.  Is it used like that, or is he just talking too fast?  Thank you! ...
