Venus Remedies
Oct 05, 2012

Hi, everyone, I just wanted to alert you about a potentially poisonous job ad at another MT site.  The company name is listed as Siemens, but when the ad wording looked suspicious, I wrote to the person whose name is shown as the contact and asked her if the position is remote or inhouse and also about the name of the company.  She wrote that the company name is Venus Remedies, and upon some research, I found that this is an Indian company.  It took more than one email with her t ...

Help With Finger Pain, Keyboard Choices, Or Other Remedies
Nov 11, 2009

In the last couple of months I've noticed that my fingers seem sore to touch.  It happens in random areas, sometimes on the pads of the fingers, sometimes along the middle of the fingers when I grip my iPod Touch or hold my coffee cup.  Mostly it seems to be superficial and in the skin.  Definitely not an arthritis-like pain. Some days it's been harder to transcribe because of this.  When a fingertip is sore, I sometimes wrap a little Coban wrap around it which help ...

Pan Cough PD
Oct 24, 2009

I was wondering if anyone has heard of Pan Cough PD.  I can find Cold Cough PD, but now 2 providers (i type for an urgent care clinic) have dictated this...very clear, so pretty sure I am not hearing it incorrectly.  Other transcriptionist just skipping this and leaving a blank, but I'd like to know.  Could Pan stand for something?  Dosing is 2 tsp q.4.h. p.r.n. if that helps.  Thanks! ...

Cough Assist
May 17, 2010

I'm transcribing a rehab H&P and they use the term Cough Assist a lot. It came in thru ESC as cough assist, but I'm finding that it's CoughAssist or Cough Assist, trademarked, on a lot of hits on Google. Does anyone know if it's supposed to be upper case or lower case? The sentence is "Continue with cough assist b.i.d." ...

Patient Is A What?
Aug 05, 2012

I swear to all that is holy, this is what this less-than-stellar PA just dictated:   "The patient IS a high-risk gestational trophoblastic disease..."  I went back and listened thinking I must have heard wrong and she said patient HAS ... Nope.  She said IS.  This is the same PA who dictated a creatinine of 92 for someone.   That sound you hear is me hitting my head on the desk. ...

Patient First FYI
Jun 11, 2014

Just FYI....I applied to PF about 3-4 months ago. Took the transcription test, thought I did great, never heard a word. Today out of the blue, got a call that I had done great on testing and they would like to offer me a position.  I said thanks but no thanks since I'm no longer looking for a job. She told me that they are currently looking for lots of MTs due to opening several new facilities. Just thought I would pass this along to anyone who is interested in jumping on and taking ...
