I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway). Does anyone have advice/tips on how to make this more user-friendly? Plus I lose reports and have no idea where they go or how to get them back, so I am losing line count as well. I was happy to read all those positive reviews, but now I really don't understand why I am having such problems when lots of people really seem to like this platform. The information given to us by the company is very minimal, so there is no help that I found in that regard. I am open to any advice/suggestions. TIA!

Not sure what instructions you got or if the key combinations would be the same due to the different versions of Chartnet so if we work for the same place, I could help you out.

I think it is ok, although because I work for 2 companies, the key combinations are different and I always delete stuff by mistake.

for cumbersome functions using your expander or other program, such as AutoHotKeys? Although I've never done ChartNet, I do that for Enterprise. Why hit the Ctrl+Alt+C you're given to create a subheading when you can just tap "cc," or some such thing, with one finger? If you're using badly placed keys (for you) or 3 or more keystrokes for any routine function, including such tiny but constant annoyances as having to then hit another key to place the cursor where you'll need it to start typing, make a macro with a very quick name to cure the entire encumbrance permanently.

Thanks for the ideas about making the shortcuts. I will definitely do that when I get some free time. My main concern today was the loss of 3 reports within a 3-hour period, none of which I get credit for, and wish I knew of a way to retrieve those! As for the headings, because of all the control/shift/alt keys, I just need to remember how to put them in the shortcut keys with the tags, etc, for the capitals, bold, etc. I had thrown away all that info (never a good idea, I now realize!) when I left my previous company, and of course this company (remaining unnamed) just went with this program, which I never cared for. Oh well. Practice makes perfect, right!? Thanks again!

Did you get an error message before you lost the reports? I sometimes experience a little lag between sign off screens and sometimes get error messages. If you hit "edit report," then after it brings up the report in the edit screen, hit "exit," you should get the signoff screen(s) again.

I don't know if your ChartNet format is the same as the one I use, so this info may be useless. I don't have to do anything special for headers, just type them.

My company also gave pretty minimal info on the software, so I tried to figure out things as I went.

I think the expander program is pretty straightforward to add. You just type in the field as you want it to show, including bold, cap, etc., and it comes out the same in text screen.

I personally really do like this software. It gets "hung up" sometimes, but overall, it's user friendly IMO. I know software is very personal to the MT, so everyone is different.

I cannot reply be e-mail as there isn't a place to do that. The place I work does start with an M. I am now being told that my ShortHand may be causing a conflict with the program. ??? I have lost approx 1500 to 1800 lines that I am not being reimbursed for so not very happy right now. I get an invalid floating point error and then my report gets wiped and takes me back to the starting point where you actually click to start a new job so there is nothing of the job. I have no idea what this is about and I am very frustrated basically typing for free. Now they want me to type without my expander program. Geesh...anything else I can do? Does anyone know if ShortHand is compatible with ChartNet? Has anyone had this problem before? I'm not very computer savvy and what I have looked up about the error doesn't make much sense other than it's some program error. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

I have been using ChartNet for a few weeks now. My training was really brief, so I still have a lot to learn. With the way we do the headers (cnt-N) and subheaders (cnt-shift-N), there doesn't seem to be any way to paste large sections into the report to include headers and/or subheaders. I did that a lot in DocQscribe, and it sure did help my line count not to mention my hands and wrists when I could copy and paste large sections into certain reports, especially with things like card ...

Why is it that every time Chartnet has an update, things end up worse than before? Stuff that used to work doesn't work right anymore. And it doesn't accept 1-letter abbreviations. Once in a while I mistakingly save a file before the voice file is done. I put in my first password in and then it tells me the voice file was not finished and all I can do is answer "OK" in the box. What I want to know if there is a way to go back and finish the file? The only thing I can do is split the file as if there was a separate dictation on the same voice file.
