Post audit for two week were terrific - the honeymoon is over

Posted: Dec 31, 2014

My first 2 weeks of post audit were terrific - the third week, not so good - and this week - back to reality - I smell a setup - give us a really good post audits once in awhile to keep us working for them, but not so often that they have to pay us a decent wage all the time.

This is how they have always been. - SM

I remember the roller coaster that is Nuance. What finally woke me up was a sinister thing they tried to pull on me (I've posted it so many times, I don't want to again). I would go one day happy, the next day sad; I started thinking I was bipolar. So I kept a list of all the bad things and how often they happened. Then I compared them with the good things. The event that put me over the edge could have been anything. I was ready to leave. I had been sending out resumes since the "takeover." The moment when I was offered a job finally came and I left like a bat out of ____. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me this week sm - AnAnonMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I had 99.9 last week. Two days in this week they got me down to 98.6, and no post audits since. I'll be leaving soon I believe.

Happened to me this week as well. - Will

The QC is where it's at - mom22

[ In Reply To ..]
Even if your audits are 100%, and you are doing 200 lines an hour, it's the QC that is going to get you. Holidays, you are going to be working on various accounts if your doc is off. And more than likely, they are going to go to QA - or your lines are going to suffer if you sit like an idiot like I did to produce the best quality you could, no matter how long it took. Whether it is something the doc did, something required by specs, and absolutely no fault of your own, and heaven forbid that you actually get put on full QA while you learn an account, what gets sent to QA counts against you. So...3 ways they can get at you. You can stand in a corner to keep from being stabbed in the back, but then they just come at you from the front or squash you from above. Either way, it's a no-win situation here.

It is beyond stupid to penalize for sending to QC - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
Any good company should know that you are risking major errors, guessing and other BS when you penalize an MT, plus pay them slave wages, plus base their income off how much they send to QC. If they cared about quality at ALL, they would never penalize. I can imagine some would send blanks for everything, but you take that person or people aside and you tell them it can't continue and if it does you fire them.

It's just such a load of crap.

Blanks and QC - mom22

[ In Reply To ..]
One of the other MTs was told not to send to editors if there were fewer than 3 blanks. Um, then what do you do with the blanks? Send it with them? Guess? The heck! Well, I'm not changing anything I do. At the end of the day, regardless of my pay, I DO care about the patient's health, and an accurate, good quality medical record is part of that. Therefore, I will do everything I can to provide that.

Pay attention to who does the audits - ss

[ In Reply To ..]
If I have this particular person doing the audit you can bet I will get dinged for the littlest punctuation mark. I challenged and won a couple from her in the past and after that I swear she was after me like ugly on ape. Tons and tons of my reports were audited by her the week after the reversals. Now whenever I see her name, I can bet no 100 or even 99% coming my way. I think it is too much to be a coincidence.

Auditor S.S. Do these initials look familiar? - McNuttie

[ In Reply To ..]
S.S. sent a rather nasty email to my TSM (that I inadvertantly saw when my TSM forgot to delete the forwarded email) stating that I lacked confidence in my work. My TSM of course apologized for S.S.'s tackiness, but the damage had already been done. I agree with you that there are auditors that think they are so above it all and that they know the answer to every blank that comes their way, guessing or not. This auditor is a piece of work to say the least, and when the auditors start getting production pay, all hell will break loose for us pee-ons.

Wow, did "SS" - ever work for MMoral?

[ In Reply To ..]
We used to have an SS who fit that description to a T. I swore she had a personal vendetta against me. I haven't seen her since MMoral switched to PodSwamp.

Post audit - MLS

Happened to me too. I was really happy with my first new paycheck, 100% on all audits, but this week not so happy because of 2 audits that will bring my whole paycheck down to 7 cents a line, so why even try. Seems like they were determined to find reports to get me under that 99%, plus they were not even critical errors. Bet there will be a lot more people that will be quitting as soon as they find another job.

Here's what I'm experiencing... - w/ ambulatory & exclusives

[ In Reply To ..]
I have exclusive dictators. I have had 1 report audited during the first week of this ordeal. This report happened to be a dictator who is NOT one of my exclusives, but I do have direct send privileges for him. Of course, this is the report they chose. I got a 99.3% score on that one. I have not had ANY reports audited since then. That one was on 12/8 I believe. Nothing at all since. My pay has been calculated using that 99.3% score for every pay week.

I get the feeling that they are keeping me here at 99.3%. I have only been transcribing my exclusives lately. I know these guys like the back of my hand. It's not uncommon for me to have a 0% QC score because I don't send anything in for review. If they actually audited my reports, I could probably make quite a bit more money than I'm currently making on the 99.3% QA score. I KNOW I could get that score up. However, I doubt I'm going to be given the chance. There are too many factors that are completely out of our control with the pay plan. They have complete control. They can get you where they want you with your QA% score and then your stuck there. Nothing you can do about it.

I find it quite odd that people are being audited left and right, and I've been audited only once. I would love to know if anybody else with exclusives finds themselves in a similar situation.

I'm over on the ambulatory side, too - ambMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I'd be interested to hear the experiences of others on this side.

Ambulatory...at first i got only 1 QC... - Then a bunch

[ In Reply To ..]
Be careful what you wish for. Suddenly they are picking apart every aspect of my reports...little things that can knock you down below 99%. I have worked for YEARS with 99+ to 100% QC. Now these little picky things that have nothing whatsoever with patient safety, "a" versus "the," are knocking me down.

Don't think for a minute it is going to be like before with ambulatory...(you KNOW your doctor and you KNOW what he MEANS TO SAY.) We can't do that any more. I sit staring at a report wondering, "Do I send to QA with a blank, or do I put in what I KNOW he means, from countless other reports, to say?" No, you can't do that any more...have to blank it, otherwise, when it gets pulled for QC you have a CRITICAL ERROR. And your exclusive is wondering what the **** YOUR problem is? What happened to my good transcriptionist? Why is she blanking all this stuff? She KNOWS what I mean to say!! He is probably checking your initials to see if you are YOU or maybe you're on vacation.

"Be careful what you wish for" has... - w/ ambulatory & exclusives

[ In Reply To ..]
.. definitely crossed my mind! lol. I bounce between being angry that I haven't gotten a chance to bring up my QA% and being grateful that I'm flying under the radar at the moment. ;) Unfortunately, I think this is one of those "damned if you do and damned if you don't" type of situations.

It's a stupid pay plan anyway. Quality is absolutely NOT the main concern. If it was they wouldn't be cutting our pay for sending a certain percentage of reports in for review. It sucks not knowing what next week will be like... or the week after that, etc. This week might be good, but next week might go right in the crapper. It's like a horrible, nonstop roller coaster with a bunch of morons at the control panel.

How Many Post-audit Reports Are You Having Per Day/week?
Dec 25, 2014

I'm new to FIESA.  The company I was with that Nuance bought out just started using FIESA this month.  I'm having post-audits daily, as many as 5 a day.  Is that pretty much what the rest of you average?  Just curious since I've been reading the board and watching what others are saying about the new and exciting "pay" plan.  ...

For Post Below About Failing Audit
Aug 29, 2012

(not using my spellcheck - please forgive)  Recently I have found some interesting information on the internet - about how insurance companies are now conferring with employers on a 3- or 6-month basis to determine which employees are using excessive health insurance, as in if someone has cancer or is costing them money.  They in turn are letting those employees go in various ways.  Since insurance companies can no longer terminate policies or refuse care for people with preexist ...

How Much Do They Post Audit And How Chosen
Dec 23, 2014

I thought it was supposed to be like a 2% representation of your total line count.  How do they figure this, is it computer determined or random by QA staff? Do they have some program that generates and spits out which ones to be picked?  Do the QA staff have the option of picking whatever they want to?  I know there has to be some QA/QC people on here who might know.    ...

Is There A Way To Re-listen To Post-audit Reports?
Dec 28, 2014

I don't see a way to do it in Fiesa like my TSM said, unless I'm missing something.  That would sure stink if this weren't possible.  For example, if you think you need a reversal on something--it would help to be able to relisten to see if you really made that mistake.  ??? ...

This Is Strange...I Got A Post Audit Today For A
Jan 05, 2015

Jan 2, which is from last pay period.  I failed at 97 something percent.  I had 2 other reports from last pay period that were 100%.   So of course (luckily) the audit they did today won't count for that week--for one thing I already approved my pay statement and it did show that I had 100% QA.  I actually got a decent cpl, even though my production was very low as I was on my backup account.   Anyway, so what happens with that failing post audit score fr ...

Questions For QA/post Audit People
Jan 14, 2015

I have noticed that sometimes my post audits in FIESA will have a blank added in there by QA for something that they feel is "unclear."  They will take out whatever I have typed and blank it. I have not received error points for any of these things (so far).  I guess it's just something that they couldn't make out as well as I could? I have exclusives, and I know them well, but they are good dictators and not hard to understand at all. For example, one sentence (which my doc ...

Nearing The Quarter's End = More Post-audit Reviews!
Mar 17, 2014

I really hate to add to the conspiracy theories (as I generally just don't believe them), but I can't help but add to this one! I can definitely tell that the quarter is almost up because I've started receiving more and more post-audit reviews, and of course they are just enough to knock my out of the running for bonus, despite having a near 100% score of QC1 and post-audits earlier in the month.  Any post-audit QA's out there want to comment on this?  It's a ...

Post Audit And Quality Review FIESA
