You are misinformed. DocQScribe is an excellent format to work on BUT it counts in a way that will shock you. AND can change from day to day, minute to minute. The program that is used to control it is called DocQMANAGE. In DocQManage are things you will not believe. You might have access to PART of DocQManage, but not ALL OF IT. They assign a divisor which can mean that you are TOLD that you are paid on a 65 character line, but will not be. There are so many options in there for l ...
Recently found out that two Chicagoland hospitals who outsourced to Nuance are paying them a whopping 15 to 15.5 cents per line for VR. With this being an almost virtual world now and very little overhead, it is a terrible injustice for Nuance to pay their MTs only a fraction/peanuts of what they are getting paid.
While Nuance owners are laughing all the way to the bank, it is time for every Nuance MT to formulate a "get out of jail/Nuance" plan ASAP.
I was told ...
To illustrate the stark difference between those so many believe to be "they" and those they consider to be "we." Let us as AMERICAN MTs think:
"… why the Central Americans… at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles had always been “on board” in terms of active grassroots participation in their local union, in contrast with non-immigrant workers who viewed the union as a sort of utility, with a bill (dues) that came once a month, but not a collective. …El ...

I left MM over a month ago. I interviewed for a job the very next week and they hired me on the spot. The money was wonderful, hourly only. It was soooo sweet! Money great, people there great. I thanked God every day for it. Then, on the 4th week, I was informed that my job there was over. HERE AGAIN...they have no MTs anymore. WHAT?!!!
Consequently, I am not ever, ever, ever, going to go for an MT job again. I love the work so ve ...
Typing a SOAP note for a local physician and I know I have heard this word before but do not use it everyday and it is just not clicking this morning!!! He is telling the patient to stay away from fatty foods and he uses this word in a sentence telling him to "Stay away from the fast food ____ (sounds like jonara or ganara)"
TIA! ...
I just read this article (link below), and am coming to the realization that it is not Medical Transcription companies like Nuance care about, but they are 'suffering' MTs until MT is gone completely, which will be soon in my opinion. These companies are all competing and working toward selling their programs which will very soon eliminate the need for MT altogether because of the new EHR laws = the doctors will be doing their own editing with little free-style speech at all.&nbs ...
Hi there
I´m starting to use Express scribe with an Infinity foot control. How can I adjust it to go back for like 2-3 second everytime I stef of the foot control? ...
Did anybody read the article on Yahoo news regarding fast food workers demanding $15 per hour and benefits? We do not make that sometimes and we have an education plus extensive training and for us ICs a lot of overhead.
I do not deem fast food work a career but a job you work while in high school for extra spending money in your pocket...... ...
Have to say, I love Mmodal. My CCM is caring and considerate and kind. Also, love the pay and hardly ever running out of work but when we do, that is a nice break for me. I just put the pedal to the metal and don't take anything posted here to heart cuz, lots of angry people just wanting to take you down. Pass on the love!!! ...

On top of that, the report is 28 minutes long!!! Should never have gotten out of bed this morning. LOL
I do feel bad for him that he doesn't realize he doesn't have to spell every other ...
Does anyone remember when, and why, an MT line became a 65-character line instead of a gross line? And what company was responsible for this, if any? ...
I think I have found my out of MTing finally. I am going to try to be a home health aide. It is perfect for me in every way!! I am just so excited! ...
I found the below on the Company Board, and wondered if this could be true?
... Because you've already put in your 40 hours. It is illegal to change your timesheets so they don't have to pay overtime. If they can't give you sufficient work and keep hiring people who take your work away from you, find a company that will give you enough work. Save the emails and send them to the department of labor. ...
I just found out that even though I am doing the minimal required lines (120) I am not earning minimum wage and so even if I increase my lines I won't make any more money....Until I am typing over 160 lines. I am so angry. Now they are pressuring me to get higher lines so I can get out of them paying minimum wage. Which is insulting in itself. I am going to try to do it and then be a benefited employee. But I am just angry that 120 lines doesn' ...

I have been in this (medical transcription) boat for a long time. I have enjoyed it and been able to support myself. The last few years I have been stubbornly trying to hang on and "ride the waves", but have finally gotten it through my thick head that this is NOT working for me anymore! I hate what this industry has become!
Anyway, was looking on the website of our local technical college, and I think I have found something I may be interested in. Going to lo ...

Just for the heck of it, I went to the resume section of this board, and noticed there were quite a few MTs with "entry-level or less than 5 year's experience" wanting to be compensated 10-15 cpl -- I really seriously doubt that is going to happen, especially for a "newer" MT. I would suggest that if you are really serious about finding a job in MT, then revise your expected compensation rate to something a bit more realistic. ...
I also posted this on the main board, but here goes.

In my quest to improve SOMETHING, I stumbled across "job burnout." I think it is my problem and wanted to share.
"A strong signal that the burnout victim is sliding into an existential crisis of meaninglessness is evident when the person's statements about work are cloaked with a "so what?" or "why bother?" attitude. This is particularly striking among burnout victims who were once very enthusiastic and dedicated."
There is some very good information and might be helpful. At ...
