Nuance Transcription Services (NTS) is looking for high producing, high quality Quality Control Editors who have the ability and drive to add significant value to reviewed documents. We are now offering an aggressive reimbursement incentive for these hourly positions which increases earning potential based on errors identified and blanks filled in. We are also looking forward to implementing a shift differential in the near future to compensate for hours worked during the overnight shift.

So it's like working on commission ... the more "errors" identified, the higher - the incentive. Explains so much. nm

Yeah and anon still thinks this is "old news" - Sick to death of these unethical

slobs. Would love to see them hit with a MAJOR, COMPANY CRUSHING lawsuit. Seems to be the only thing they understand.

Anon doesn't think this is old news. This is new news. - and bad news at that.

Anon was talking about the PTO pay policy being old news.

This news is horrific, as it will clearly motivate some unethical behavior.

Anon cannot wait to quit. The first year I worked here it was okay. This last year has been a horror show.

Watch out for these words - xx

"competitive" and "lucrative". These indicate a pay cut and a harder to achieve incentive. This company is getting dirtier and dirtier. Scumbags, all of them!!!

    details - mb

I for one would like to know exactly what the details of this plan are. Is there still an hourly rate and what is it? If not, what is the production requirement in numbers, and what is the rate per blank filled in or not filled in?

I smell a paycut coming. I would guess hourly rate will - be cut to nothing and only way

to make more will be to seek out those errors. Way to go Nuance. I'm glad I got out when you took over Transcend. I guess I was right in my thinking it was only a matter of time. Good luck to all you ex-Transcend QA people. I really do feel for you and the MLS.

I agree unfortunately. I think we expected this though - eventually. Hope to give notice this week.

It was only a matter of time really.

I'm out of here too. I liked Transcend but cannot stand - what Nuance has done to them.

    Nov 12, 2009

To those making 50+ K a year: I'm glad to know that in this industry it is still possible to make a decent living! I LOVE transcription!  I've been an at-home MT for about 5 years and see the potential, but seem to get easily distracted being at home and get restless and can't sit still.  What is it that you are doing to stay focused on your work?  Is it really about working weekends and second, third shifts?  Please share! I'm stuck at around 25K, when ...

    MT Schools Promising Big Bucks
    Feb 25, 2012

First, don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to be negative about this in any way and wish any new MT success. However, with this profession dying like it is and even very experienced MTs just trying to eke out even $10 an hour . . . It really aggravates me all of these MT schools and courses trying to suck innocent people in with their high tuition costs, etc. The fact is that nowadays it is akin to going and paying x amount of money to go work for $10 or less an hour. These schools/c ...
