why does spell check stop on all the headings? - Drone

and why did they not address the issue in DQS7? I mean, so what if the heading is not on the list? Why does it have to stop on it? or why not let me save it so it doesn't have to stop on it next time?

because they only want you to use headings on the list - so they dont have to pay you

My CCM says that if we do not use the headings list, it messes up the back end formatting. I'm not sure I believe this. Sometimes I use the list and sometimes my own shortcuts, depends on my mood, but have never been called on it. Like you say, who knows?

The headings on the left are client preferred headings and/or headings from a mandatory standard. When using the headings on the left instead of what is dictated (i.e. using "indications" versus "indications for procedure"), this allows the computer to recognize the heading and put it in the correct heading order on final (i.e. "Procedure" before "Anesthesia"). It also helps recognize special formatting associated with that heading (i.e. automatically caps everything under the "Allergy" heading) or even sets demographics in the header (i.e. "Report title" and "Body after Report Title"). So, yes, it does screw up formatting that the client prefers.

However, if a heading is dictated and it or something equivalent is not in the list, it can be typed as a red-tagged heading (unless CP notes otherwise). I have encountered reports (MME by the way) where an MT new to this put all dictated headings in plain type format and not under a red tag because there weren't any on the left.

In all all honestly, I don't know why they put an unrecognized heading checker in. Unnecessary.

Thanks for your help. For some reason, my spellcheck is doubling twice. For example, if I hit F7 in the report or even upload, it would highlight a word misspelled such as Treadmil (need the extra "l" at end of word). Spellcheck will highlight word and replace. Then it will state "Spellcheck complete" and will do it AGAIN. It will then change the "treadmil" word to not only right the first time by adding an extra "l", but will add ANOTHER "l" to spell TREADMILLL. Ho ...

Not used to 6.1 yet and can't find the info. Is there a way to have the spell checker suggest words, like it used to do? Are my settings off? Most words have no suggestions, and even with "coumadin" for example, there is no suggestion of "Coumadin." Thanks! ...

in DQS 7.1 without it checking the whole report? I have tried highlighting the word and hitting F7 and putting the curser on the word and hitting F7, and that does not work. Be careful with the spell check. It is not working properly. I just let something go through that I thought spell check would catch and I would fix it when I came to the end of the document. I thought there was a way to make that annoying ding sound at the end of the dictation when spell check is complete to sound softer. I have Windows XP. While editing, have you ever come across a read heading that is not meant to be there and sometimes has nothing to do with what is dictated, and then, upon normalizing the heading with ctrl-shift-H, it shows exactly what was dictated? This happens all the time with me, but this one really stood out. The red heading was FAMILY AND SOCIAL. What was dictated was "dairy and wheat." Without typing what was dictated, I normalized the heading and, sure enough, "dairy and wheat" ...
