Changing schedule will help with work flow- really? - cheated

Posted: Aug 14, 2014

I am so aggrevated right now.  I had problems with NJA consistently for close to 8 months a few years back.  Then I got moved to a new group and for the next 12 months (1 whole year) only got NJA about 6 times, including holidays.  Then guess what?  I got moved again and in less than a month I have ran out of work about 12 times...ugh!  I was forced to change my schedule that I have had for the entire 14 years with this company and I am still running out of work and sometimes, believe it or not, there is "mandatory" OT???Yell

The ONLY reason I stay is that I have - sm

a good schedule. The pay, accounts, ASR, and everything else are horrid, so if they try to force me to change my schedule, I will definitely be outta here. If I'm gonna get stuck working weekends and/or nights, I'll do it somewhere else where I might actually make some money.

Schedule Change just happened to me - had enough

I've had numerous schedule changes in my 17 years working here. Never had to work weekends up until about a year ago. Asked me to work every other Saturday, thought that wasn't so bad. Now just told me that I have to work every Saturday, plus I can't work my early morning hours anymore. So tired of it!

The only reason I stay - is that

I typed my zip code into one of the job finder websites and the ONLY thing it came up with was "Sow Farm Manager."

That's the only job available in your zip code?

Back when I was looking, I came across goat herding. Actually, if I were younger, I might enjoy being on a hillside with some goats, sleeping in a tent. :) Good luck to you all. I took an 8 to 5 job last year. It was a joy not to work weekends because I have been doing it the past 5 years. Holidays included.

You're right, that does sound nice, if I were younger (much younger). I love animals and peace and quiet. There are no jobs like that around here in the city. We do have a lot of hospitals though, very large hospitals, none of which are hiring. Last year one of the largest laid off over 800 people in a week. I was very upset by that, I knew some of those people, they worked hard and were very helpful. If these hospitals stopped wasting so much money it would not have come to that.

Yep, I would have been happy with those goats.

On the bright side, the sows will be more appreciative than mngt - here. Oink.

do not want to mess with O-care. Will go w/o until I'm 65 if I have to, tho.
I am only going til 62 - Im a veteran and can use the VA

after that until Medicare. Wasn't in my big plan to retire at 62, but don't think MT will be around much longer and there are hardly any jobs in my area and none of them seem to want a 60 y/o.
If you look online, they are saying more and more - L&L

people are retiring early. I looked at break even points for taking it early vs taking it later. None of my 1st-degree relatives lived to hit 60, so I'm seriously thinking of going a couple of years w/o insurance. I want my fair share.

CHANGING JOBS/CHANGING EMPLOYEES
Feb 23, 2011

I have been applying and studying the "online transcription world" for about 2 months, so I realize I have am a neophyte. BUT-it seems to me that what is happening here is a huge waste of time and money. If the companies paid enough, ACTUALLY had work when they hire, were able to ACTUALLY pay the employees at all,  and treated employees well, then the transcriptionists wouldn't go looking for another job and leave.  THEN the companies wouldn't have to maintain recruiters, pos ...

Wmx Work Flow Improving?
Nov 09, 2009

Am I just lucky a.k.a. crazy, or is there quite a bit more work lately.  There has been OT on at least 2 of my accounts fairly often and I haven't ran out of work for over 2 weeks now.  I don't know if some people have quit, we have picked up new accounts or what, but I am ever-so-grateful.  I had picked up a PT job about a month ago when things were low, now I am killing myself trying to do over 60 hours a week, but afraid to let the part time gig go.    ...

DSG In Terms Of Their Work Flow
Feb 09, 2010

I am curious as to how people who work for DSG feel about DSG in terms of their work flow and if you have enough work to fill a 40-hour week.  If you prefer private e-mail, that's fine.  Not looking for either slamming or touting the company, but I do want OBJECTIVE information, which would include if you run out of work consistently or, conversely, if you have plenty of work to keep you going 40 hrs a week.  Just the facts please.  "I run out of work all the time," "I have plenty of ...

Work Flow Sent Up The Red Flare.
May 10, 2014

Begging for people to jump on, if okay with their TSM. Ha! Ha! Don't they know, the TSM (at least the last several I have had) will not pick up the phone 10 seconds after their shift, and their shift does not include weekends (apparently from my experience). Maybe they let go a few too many with their 99.7% program. In the group I am in, the work really starts coming in heavy because the doctors do their catch up work at the end of the week. At least for the facilities I do. Bas ...

I Got In Trouble For Not Changing 1st, 2nd Etc
Oct 23, 2009

I always thought it was optional to spell out 1st, 2nd, or 3rd per AAMT BOS so now I will go look for it.  I am so frustrated though because not only do I get paid less on ASR but it takes longer to do it!  My accounts have to be put into standards and the dictators sure as heck do NOT dictate it that way!  On the physical exam in one of my accounts we have to do headings caps on the left margin, which isn't so bad, but I said they sure as heck don't dictate that way and ...
