Hi, I was just offered a position at Webmedx and wanted to get some feedback to see if current MTs were happy there and why or why not? I need some quick responses if possible because I was planning on quitting my other job on Monday. Thanks

Just search the archives, a ton has been written in the past month. They were bought out by Nuance this summer. Insurance rates skyrocketed, and new "rate adjustments" will be announced Dec 1 (probably another slash at pay and/or bonus tier structure to lessen any money paid to MTs). Right now is a very uncertain time, and if you have any choice in the matter it would be better to wait to see what the new pay structure will be. Good luck.

If the OP was offered a job by Webmedx, but they don't exist any more, having been bought out by Nuance, how exactly does that work? False advertising for sure, but seriously. How does that work?

A company I worked for was bought out by another and they still use - their original name, sm

I guess when you own a company, you can chose to change the name or keep it (probably in the contract signed somewhere). As a matter of fact, very few of the higher ups in that company changed. The only change I saw from the buyout was just the production of another set of higher ups, and of course, a change in pay and employee status.

Archivus was bought out by Etransmedia a few years ago and they still - exist and still use the same name

Etransmedia Acquires Three More Firms

Etransmedia, which specializes in electronic medical record-keeping, purchased three more businesses in the last two weeks bringing its total number of acquisitions to seven over the past four years.

â��These acquisitions effectively doubled our 2007 revenue,â�� Etransmedia CEO Vikram Agrawal told The Business Review. In 2007, the companyâ��s revenue was $13 million. It expects to bring in $20-25 million dollars in 2008.

The Troy-based company closed deals on Strategic Medical Resources in Philadelphia and Professional Billing Group in Pittsburgh, both of which handle medical billings; and Archivus, a medical transcription company, in Charlotte, N.C.

Etransmedia spent about $8 million on the transactions, but terms of the individual deals were not disclosed. It received $13.5 million in funding from Peninsula Capital Partners and KeyBank.

The company plans to add up to 25 sales people and programmers over the next year. With the new acquisitions, Etransmedia employs 500 workers.

Etransmedia is pursuing further acquisitions of companies in Atlanta, Florida and on the West Coast.

â��We have a number of deals planned for next year,â�� Agrawal told The Business Review.

Etransmedia provides small and medium-sized physicians groups with medical records management, medical billing and transcription services and an online portal for patient scheduling and bill paying

The company was founded in 2000 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Instituteâ��s business incubator and moved to the Rensselaer Technology Park in 2003 where it continues to maintain its corporate headquarters.

Not a good company to work for anymore. used to be when they really cared about their employees. Pay is low, insurance is ridiculous and they will fire you if you do not make your line count even if you have been there for over 10 years

The unremarkable Wedmedx needs to pay for the downtime MTs are incurring because they want to switch everything over to their horrendous ISR. The unremarkable Webmedx requires 1 to 4 hours to get new computers up and running and yet we production people are supposed to make up that time or use our PTO time or just not get paid. I just want you to know what a phenomenal job I think you all did on those atrocious accounts. I QA'ed your work and was amazed at what you could decipher out of those dictations. Anyone else working for/or have worked for both who has noticed a difference in the quality of the ASR on one as compared to the other. I may be crazy, but I think I make far fewer corrections to the ASR on MQ work. Maybe just lucky, but I tend to be a mouse user (I know - shame on me, but I am getting better) and I find my right hand lets me know when I have been using the mouse more. ...

My hospital employs Wmx for overflow work. Their contact person claims we are their only account not using voice recognition, and that almost 70% of the VR reports are good to go without editing. I find this hard to believe, as so many doctors are resistant to VR because it doesn't work well. I also find their 70% claim questionable as we've had VR for Radiology for 5 years and approximately TWO percent of reports do not need editing and it has been a big waste o ...
