eTransPlus Question - MT

Anyone know any information on eTransPlus? Good/bad. Line count per hour/week requirements. Pay per line. Just the usual questions. I am thinking about applying, but want to make sure there is work for me to do there. Please comment.

I have been there close to a year now. The last few weeks since Labor Day have been pretty slow, but it will pick back up. They are a great company to work for in my opinion. They pay on a tiered scale according to how many lines per week you type. The max pay level is for over 7000 lines per week. You must maintain 12,000 lines in a 2-week period to be eligible for benefits, including paid time off. QA has been great. They pretty much just leave you alone and let you work.

enough work. Let me correct that. I was on SIX accounts where there was not enough work, and after they implemented their new way of tiering the pay, I could not juggle my time enough to keep my lines up.

They were very nice though, and I was hoping to stay but that tiered pay thing is only to their advantage and very bad for the MT.

The tiered pay scale is pretty much an incentive to actually work when you are supposed to be working. How is that bad for the MT? If you put in the time to make the required lines you will make more per line than just about anywhere I have seen. If you spend your working hours checking email, surfing the net, or doing your laundry you will not. The choice is yours how you spend your time.

the tier started off when i was there at about 0.5 cpl and that is what you get if you dont have enough work to bring you up a tier.

if it was for incentive, they would give you a base pay and then after you completed up over that amount, you would get more. That is incentive. The other way dings you.

It is certainly not an incentive. You can't do the - former EMT MT

lines if there is no work. Why do you assume it is the MT doing laundry, checking email, surfing the net, etc? Did you not read the other postings about six accounts and no work? You wind up working for 7 cents a line because of lack of work. Good for the company, bad for the MT.

If you cannot juggle more than 6 accounts on any given day, you will NEVER have enough work. Communication nonexistant. All straight typing. Platform less than desirable....slow, slow...especially if you use shorthand with it. If you are away from your desk for more than 2 minutes, it logs you off. Couldn't take it anymore.

on account where there is work. You don't have to stay. My very first day I ran out of work. That was a bad sign. I asked for more accounts which they were happy to give me. I didn't think I needed to specify accounts with work. They gave me more accounts with no work.

It sounds like at least some people have work. Maybe you will, too. You can always quit.

"Call the office if you run out of work"...very misleading...they just ask you if you want to call it a day or check back later! What?!? I thought that meant you were going to find me something....nope!

They hire you for "acute care" and you end up on clinics...called acute care I guess because of ER/urgent care.

You really have to be careful these days, I sure learned my lesson.

I have worked for eTransPlus for over two years. My account is always busy and I am happy there. When I have had any slow time at all I have had a secondary account that keeps me busy. They do not communicate with you a lot, but I like being left alone to do my job. I guess it is a matter of personal preference.

I've worked at eTransPlus for almost 5 years and am very happy there. The staff is very helpful and don't pester you constantly and let you alone to work. There are slow times, as with any company, but nothing that has lasted very long, and they usually have always been able to put me on another account to fill in and get my lines. The new pay tier did make it a little bit more difficult to make the same line count but I have a flexible schedule, fortunately, and have been able to deal with it. I feel they are a stress-free company to work for.

I applied and passed all of the testing for eTransplus as advertised on the Job Seekers Board but haven't heard anything back. Did anyone else apply and hear back yet? Just curious since I expected to hear back after successfully jumping through all of their hoops....er, passing all of their tests ;-) ...

Is there enough work during 3rd shift? Is the platform easy to use and easy to get your lines in with? How is the health insurance? I saw the premiums for the different levels but didn't see what type of coverage this is (deductible, copays, etc.). Interested to know how eTransPlus is going for Snow Bunny. She has been on this board for years...if in fact it is the same person. She was always helping with words and such. I am new to MedQuist via the eTransPlus buyout. Reading all these posts is truly scary. I know people that are rather happy tend not to post as much (hopefully they are too busy working!), but is anyone, I mean ANYONE, happy or at least not ready to jump off a tall building working for MedQuist? Have any other eTransPlus MTs noticed it being harder to get their lines recently? I just doubled check and for a 46 line document in Word, I was credited with 32 lines in EXT. Before it seems like both counts were equal. Just wondering if any else has noticed this and what is going on. TIA! ...
