Right now I am so devastated and upset I don't know what to do. Etransplus, the people whom I work for fulltime (I work part-time for Medquist) was acquired by Medquist. I wanted so much to not have to work for Medquist fulltime. This is so devastating. I was so much loving typing and doing ASR work at night, it was such a change . It was easier to just get that SMALL paycheck that I receive from Medquist and the LARGE check I got from Etransplus, but now, I am afraid, that is all going to change. I just want to just go out and jump off my roof!

eTransPlus because I had so very little work. It all went to India. It's ironic that now I work for MedQuist again. I'm not to the jumping off the roof point yet, but I'm a wee bit unnerved by this.

Outsourcing to India - Curious

That's why I was asking about the VA accounts on the company board. The VA doesn't allow outsourcing to a foreign country and MedQuist already lost those VA accounts before. Can you find where the VA accounts will be going and go with them?

cleared for them. I wish the rest of the "medical world" would follow the VA and demand that our medical records not be outsourced to other countries.

I spent hours praying during the transition and while I was in the process of leaving... my prayers were answered, perhaps not in the way I exactly wanted, but I believe God brought me to the right place at the right time. Keep the faith, but don't forget to help yourself, so you will know when God finally gives you the answer.

got both ears open wide to hear when He speaks. I know without a doubt that He lead me to eTransPlus a little over 2 years ago and I know that He is still in complete control and knows exactly what's going on. He did give me sense enough, though, to be checking other options and that's exactly what I'm doing.

After the latest pay cut at the Q I went to EtransPlus. Now I'm afraid that my accounts will go to ASR and it's paycut, paycut, paycut again. And I'm worried that when they find out I work for both companies I'll get canned.

Oh, I am not going to jump, but I am heart broken right now. I took the supplemental income because Etrans would run out of work occasionally and I need to pay my bills. So I decided to take a PT job at Q and work nights. I don't mind the change from straight typing to ASR but I just don't want to do ASR fulltime. It drove me crazy. I just hope that they don't go to ASR. I know he said that nothing will change, and I really want to believe that, but it will. I can see a changin a comin. :(

I think it is 30 days - 60 days maximum

For a new account to be straight transcription, then it will transition to SR. I was put on a new account last year and was told, hey, its a new account so it will be all typing for the first 30 days and no SR. Those were a great 30 days, but right on schedule, it went to SR.

Just received Q&A and I am screwed. Now I can only work and I know with MQ 40 hours, now what do I do. I need the extra money. I type ops, ER notes, etc and I am only at a tier 2 with MQ. I can't to making little money, right now I am crying my eyes out and cannot even work. I just don't know what to do, this is all I know. I have been doing this since I was 18 years old. I am 57 years old and can't do anything else.

Its horrible that this industry has turned its back on the US worker in favor of cheap foreign labor and we are definitely suffering for it. You should test up to a Tier 3 for more pay unless you are capped out. Maybe that will help some.

don't. I am 50+ but going back to school. Put it off and put it off. I see no other choice. At least if I am qualified and don't get hired, maybe I can get unemployment.

I am one of the victims of the MQ acquisition of Etransplus. I have worked for Etrans for 11 years. I have been reading all of these posts about MQ and I am already worried. BTW, what is ASR? A different system??? I was told today we would have to learn a new system, that Acuity was going away.

be learning DocQScribe which is very user friendly. That's the program they used when I worked for them before. I've only been with eTransPlus for a little over 2 years but have overally had a very good experience there.

I have worked for Etrans for 11 years and love working for them, however, working in Meditech, the system was changed a couple of years ago and it set medical transcription back 30 years with his transcription program and uploading is very, very slow, therefore my lines became harder to get. I am hoping for a better program to work on with MQ. I am trying to be positive as I live in a very small town where wages are also very small so going outside to work is less of an option for me. Besides I have about 1 year left before I can retire.

If you can, run, don't walk, away from the Q. You have about 3-4 months unless they have ramped up their scheme lf getting rid of, and ruining the financial lives of the MTs. Here's how it goes.... just as you breathe a sigh of relief that nothing has changed you will receive an MT Reward Email.. cutting your pay about 10% and taking away any bonuses (I lost Internet reimbursement too) that you have. Then a few months later you will get another pay cut, following which the account you have been on for years (10+ for me) will just be gone when you log on some morning. I've left the MT field. I miss it sometimes, but I had to pay my bills, and could finally read the writing on the wall. I don't blame many of you for being in tears, because you have already had Q experience, and know what is ahead. Use it to advantage, start plotting a way out. It CAN happen. Fortunately, I was never able to get by on just transcription pay, even before the Q, and kept my fingers in lots of stuff. One of those jobs went to full time....I accepted - the day my account vanished I shortly followed!!! Blessings and good luck to you all.

I don't post here often, but if you've read any of my posts, I went back to school and, through an incredibly long gauntlet, have gotten my MD. I'm just waiting for a residency, which I now find are hard to get because instead of off-shoring our residencies, all of our residencies are being given to foreign doctors. And now I have $320,000 in student loans. Just can't win for losing.

I too work for Etransplus. They are the best company I have ever worked for. Love them! I was shocked to hear the news about MQ, and also devastated. I knew this couldn't be good. Anything can you tell me about why MQ is not a good company would be appreciated. I have been doing transcription for 30 years, but am not quite old enough to retired yet. Going back to school is not a wise choice either. Too much debt and no job to pay for it. I feel your pain girl!!

I am new to MedQuist via the eTransPlus buyout. Reading all these posts is truly scary. I know people that are rather happy tend not to post as much (hopefully they are too busy working!), but is anyone, I mean ANYONE, happy or at least not ready to jump off a tall building working for MedQuist? I am trying hard not to panic just yet, but it is getting harder! So, does anyone have anything positive (even kinda sorta) to say about MedQuist? Thanks! ...

....worked into reasonable enough shape, ship it to us to keep the clients happy and maybe make money for a change. Just the opposite of what is occurring now where we are the ones doing all the heavy lifting, all the time losing jobs when those clients' work types are shipped to India. How about it, Nuance? ...

I applied and passed all of the testing for eTransplus as advertised on the Job Seekers Board but haven't heard anything back. Did anyone else apply and hear back yet? Just curious since I expected to hear back after successfully jumping through all of their hoops....er, passing all of their tests ;-) ...
