Transportal/Archivus, Charlotte, NC - Tarheel

Has anyone worked for Transportal or Archivus out of Charlotte, NC? If so, what were they like to work for ? Plenty of work? Good management? Easy platforms? Pay on time? They advertise a lot on MT Daily and I am wondering why ??? Are they losing people due to lack of work or indeed do they have plenty of work? Thanks!

I can only speak for myself - I have been with Transportal for about 1-1/2 years now, and I really have not had any problems with them. I have always been paid on time. I can't speak for the platform, this is the first time I have worked on one (Scribe). The accounts that I have been on have had more than enough work, and I have really never had any problems with anybody there. I have never worked for another MTSO, so I guess I have nothing to compare them to, but I have had no major problems or complaints with them.

I worked for Archivus for three months and left out of frustration as they are a poorly run company. Decent accounts and they do pay on time, but the people don't seem to have a clue about how to manage a company. It is like pulling teeth just to get a return phone call or email. I have a friend still there and I do understand that they have lost multiple acute care accounts.

I have worked at several MTSOs (some larger and some smaller) and I enjoy working at TransPortal. Management treats you fairly and I don't seem to have all the problems that I read about on this board. For the primary account I have been assigned to I rarely ever run out of work and dictators are very good (no ESLs). Others may have a different experience but I would recommend them to you.

Thanks so much for the very nice reply you zapped me. I noticed Transportal has been steadily running an ad on MT daily for a year or so, can't figure out if they are just trying to shore up their application banks and have no work or indeed they are legit and have plenty of work ???? What do you think?

I have been reading on this Mtstars chat line so many horror stories I would dream of applying at some companies like Keystrokes or Medquist or Nuance.

Is there any way I could get you to email me your email address so that I could zap you some questions. I would be ever so grateful. You see I don't want to waste my time trying to contact them before I get some answers, re: Their software platform - is it easy and does it come will medical spell checker, how often do they pay?, I live 45 minutes drive from Charlotte, their home office so would be even better for me. DO YOU LIVE IN CHARLOTTE OR NEAR BY?

Transportal has accounts that utilize ExpressScribe poor quality - voice files coming through on that

I hated their system. Everyone is in a pool and everyone can see what everyone is doing, skip work if want to, wait for the other person to do the job you don't want to do. I think their platform is awful. Their rate of pay is low, 7 cents for employee and 8 for IC. They overhire also, so chances are you'll be getting their minimum line count of 1200 lines or a little over but don't expect to actually make a great living working for them. If there is no work, the accounts is so awful you won't ever be able to reach a point of comfort to actually make great money. I couldn't tell you about Archivus.

Does this company hire and then after a quarterly review have QA pick your work apart and then tell you they can either terminate your contract or cut your pay. Understand this has happened to more than one person. Has anyone experienced this. They told me I was doing awesome work, not they picked the work after and then tell me that in 2 weeks my contract will either be terminated or will have a reduced line rate. This makes no sense. Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...

I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify.
