Please be kind to you fellow MT, and do not simply post “Search the archives.” Most of us already did that before posting the question. The way the MTStars SEARCH program is currently set up, many times there are NO results, even if you know the topic was just discussed a few days ago and/or is further down on the page.

The Search feature on MTStars has not been ungraded yet. They said they were going to work on it.

Right now if you want current information (after October 2009), you have to have at least 4 letters in order for the Search option to find any results. If you enter “TTD” even though there are tons of posts about them, nothing will come up in the search.

The Moderators also said they were working on a “wild card” or two-word search. Now, if you enter “Transcription Doctors,” it will bring up hundreds of posts with “transcription” and “doctor” somewhere in the "Subject" line. Also, it does not search the posts themselves, only the "Subject" line, which also limits a lot of searches.

If you do not have information, please just close the post and move on. Posting “Search the archives” only wastes everyone’s time and takes up space on the Board. If you know where an answer is, post the link or give directions of where to look.

They pat 8 cpl and 3 cpl for VR -- they used Editscript which is a decent platform. More VR than straight typing. They pay on the 10th and 25th and you have to wait almost a month for your first check. No DD so that is why I left.

Curious..Now wouldn't you think they would offer DD - smartypants

if it meant keeping MTs and not having to advertise on here constantly. Also, the VR rate is ridiculous.

I had started working for them along with another company around the end of June or so. Apparently, according to what I was told, the payroll company they were using kept "goofing up MT checks." Also, the bank that I have been with for a VERY long time, will allow me to overdraft up to half the amount of my DD if need be, so that is one reason that I absolutely had to have DD -- went with the other company and have not looked back since -- great pay and get paid every other Thursday -- there was only one time when there was glitch and we got paid on Friday instead of Thursday and get paid early if holiday falls on a Thursday and all straight transcription.

If you don't mind me asking. I cannot seem to find a decent job that doesn't want to pay you a month after you start and then by snail mail, or the end of the pay period on one day but it takes them two weeks after that to pay you. I'm just tired of it.

where you're working. I was just "sold" to a large national, and apparently the goal is to go to all VR as soon as possible. I am going to miss straight transcription. I was wondering if you could email me as well. I would so appreciate it.

I did QA for The Transcription Doctors (TTD) back in 2006-2007. They are a WONDERFUL company to work for, IMO! The owner is great! I never had an issue with pay - it was ALWAYS on time. I know they've grown tremendously since I was with them, so I'm not sure what platform they use or what they pay, but if you want to work for a great company, The Transcription Doctors is one of them.

To the poster who posted below looking for information on TTD. They don't have their own accounts. They work for Superior Global and maybe others. Superior pays them to find ICs. They probably pay them 4 cpl and then TTD pays you a cruddy 3 cpl to edit VR reports. They don't offer direct deposit because Superior is paying them and then they pay you, which is why you have to wait a month for your check. I recently graduated form CS and I have been looking for a job for the past 2 weeks. TTD offered me a job without doing any testing and I thought that was odd. My recommendation is to have any MT who feels her time is valuable to Stay very far away from this company. I am going to be very careful in how I word this. Company did not pay me correctly. Our line counts did not match. Experienced problems with line count accuracy early in employment. Kept accurate records of line counts (their counts and my counts). I started working for them over 6 weeks ago and have NOT gotten paid YET. I know there has been discussion that that happens but we're going on almost 2 months now and nothing. They have an ad on this site hiring at 8 cents and 3 cents for straight typing and editing. But, on another site, they have an ad for the same exact thing but the pay is 7 cents for straight typing and 2.5 cents for editing! Are you kidding?!?!?!?!
