TTD and timeliness with paychecks - FourGalore

hello,

i've been working for TTD for a while. we recently terminated the contract. they owe me a final paycheck. i was just wondering if ******* can be trusted to get her former ICs their final paycheck in a timely manner. or if we are going to have to make a spectacle out of it in order to receive what we are entitled to.

Just confused here. Are you referring to The Transcription Doctors or TTS in New Hampshire? I dont work for either company, but the owner of TTS is I believe Linda Kelly and not Angela Kelly, so just a bit confused and others may be confused as well. JMHO

I'm referring to TTD with a D and the president is Amy Kelley, or at least that's what she puts down on her email correspondence. I am not referring to the MTSO in New Hampshire. Ms. Kelley owes me a lot of money.

Remember, USPS has made lots of cutbacks. It has been less than a week. I have always been paid by them.

it's been at least 7 business days and i have not received mine either. i am going to have to report this to wage and hour because the person responsible for signing and mailing out the checks is not communicative.

It's only been 7 days and you are ready to go report it? I work for a reliable MTSO who always pays on time, etc. and because of the mail, it can sometimes take 9 or 10 days to get my check. Just chill if every one else hasn't received their check either.

Do you tell your electric company, phone or mortgage - company to chill?

That does not even compare. Mail takes a certain amount of time. Your utilities and mortgage companies send your bill out in plenty of time for you to mail it back. If you wait until the last minute to send it, that's your problem. If TTD sent their checks out on time and it takes the mail a while to get them to you, how is that their problem? Like I said, it sometimes takes up to 10 days to get my paychecks depending on the processing of the mail.

IC's don't come under Wage and Hour, you're on your own with this. However, Amy always pays.

Payday was 10/25, and you posted this on 10/31. So, how has it been 7 business days, when it has only been 6 calender days. 10/31 was a Sunday. Mail does not run on Sunday. Unless your contract says payment will be made immediately upon contract termination, they are allowed to wait until a normal payday to issue a check, and to complain less than a week later seems a little nuts to me. I had my check on 10/29, so not sure what the issue is, and I am about as far away from Where the checks mail from as you can get.

I haven't received my paycheck from the October 25th pay date. I live only 10 hours away from where the checks are sent from, so no way it takes this long to get to me. What is going on?

i sure have not. i am really suffering. there's $0.00 in my pockets. my bank account is in the negative. i don't even have toilet tissue!

to add insult to injury, i cannot get a couple vital medication refills from the pharmacy - i cannot come up with the copay - and i am well on my way to having a significant relapse.

I work for a very pleasant, friendly, small transcription company, BUT paychecks more than a couple of times are not getting to me and they say it's the post office, and to contact my postmaster. I ask for a reissue and then do send, but its then a week or more late. Once one of their checks bounced!! I have been typing for DIT transcription since September and I have received only one paycheck. I have been a transcriptionist for 2.5 years and I have never had this experience. I just need to vent. I am an IC who is supposed to get paid every week by my employer. Her checks were on time at first, then 1 day later, 2 days later, 3 days later, etc. I went on vacation for 1 week. During that time frame, she even emailed me to see if I was providing my usual weekend coverage. She never replies to my IM, e-mail or phone calls. I decided to look how many hours left in PTO and it was deducted today because I used some PTO on this paycheck that should have been deposited in my account yesterday morning. I think that is good news? Payroll doing their job? Maybe it means paychecks should be in our accounts in pending mode which should be deposited first and then deductions taken out next. I thought I found a good company to work for until I got a two returned checks from them in the mail. The first time I thought mistakes can be made but AGAIN my check was returned. That really upsets me because I work hard for this company and they give me a bad check. There is no excuse for doing this to an employee.
