Keystrokes - What is the deal with this company - curious

What is the deal with this company. They put an ad out like they are desperate for help and don't even respond either way? Is it a joke or for real?

They are not desperate, they have new accounts. I was hired last Thursday. sm - NewKeystroker

The recruiter told me that they have gotten hundreds of great resumes and are filling the positions quickly.

When I applied, I did get an automatic reply that they would call everyone or at least email within 2 weeks.

Are you positive they received your application?

There are many new account starting up and others that are just so busy that additional staff is needed. I have been there for 6 years and feel very fortunate to work for such a great company.

Really, you need a reality check. I truly enjoy my job at Keystrokes, and that is an honest answer.

Keystrokes just acquired 2 smaller companies. Some people from those companies chose not to stay with Keystrokes. Keystrokes is looking for bodies to fill those positions. The HR department will tell you whatever you want to hear to hire you. Your letter of intent for hire will give you 24 hours to accept. You will feel very pushed. Then you can sit and wait to actually work. Pick a number. Two weeks, three weeks, longer? Without any explanation and although the account you have been assigned is still a part of the company, you will be placed on another account. Repeat the process above. Communication and tech support is just horrid. I think those that are happy with this company just luck into a good account or a good lead. The rest is just a nightmare.

I applied recently, just got an e-mail stating that after review of account needs the Hem/Onc position was closed.

I have been through 2 paycuts, several late paychecks and it is always the bank's fault, overstaffing of accounts, e-mails and telephone calls are never returned, the lies are rampant at KS. Once you are "hooked" they figure they have you over a barrel and you have no choice but to accept what they give you. The payscale has changed many, many times and I have every e-mail and handbook to prove it. If you want to feel insecure, wait for work, and just waiting for the ax to fall, then Keystrokes is the place for you, otherwise beware.

I agree with "either they are newbies and lying" I went through the same thing, lost accounts, no work on my accounts, pay cut, late pays, and finally termination without notice after switching to a new account and being on it 3 weeks. Done with transcription. Drawing unemployment and enjoying my summer.

You obviously do not know the facts. Most of the MT's from the other two companies did stay, and the positions are not for those companies. The one new account I will be lead on needs over 20 MT's, and it is not the biggest one that they just started.

I don't understand why you say you are a current Keystroker yet you are so unhappy and obviously don't like working there. My advice, take it or leave it: Either talk to someone to get what makes you happy or find another company that will. KS certainly does not need unhappy people; MT's like you are poison to any company. I do know that several people have been weeded out for quality and not working their shifts, and I know a few more who should be and hopefully will be. That's good business practice in any company. Keep those who do well and replace bad employees with good employees. Which one are you?

The only ones you should care about are your own MT's. Again, KS is gossiping about their MT's and that is bad business practice.

I had to buy a C-phone because they were "out of them" when I hired on (found out later that they "magically found some" after I had already bought mine), was put on the most horrible account possible, was given nothing but ops when I specifically had asked for a variety of acute care work, etc. The QA was one big BOS quote complete with page and paragraph, etc., and I lasted a few weeks and said no thanks and quit.

Yep, did the C-phone. Bought a new foot pedal for a new account that did not come through and purchased a new computer 3 weeks before they terminated me.

KS seems to be getting lower and lower in the popularity with emplooyees test. I worked for them once but left for the reasons everyone is talking about. There was no communication. The owner was never truthful and everyone is afraid of her because of her horrible temper tantrums. The accounts are overstaffed - you might get put on another account but it will be overstaffed too. Okay, guess I will show how dumb I am. I am an MT in a in-house office for a urologist. he dictates, I listen and transcribe. i get on here and read everyone fussing about VR. I get that VR is voice recognition...but what is your job? If you are an MT, you have VR, I realize it gets it wrong sometimes but what do you do? A little over a month ago my old PC finally crashed after 10 good years. I replaced it and had to put antivirus on it (of course). I ended up taking my son to the ER and can't afford insurance, so I ended up paying out of pocket for his antibiotics. A couple of days ago I took my mom to the ER because of sudden back pain. We live in a town of ~20,000 and have a 100-bed hospital with a fully staffed ER. We were the ONLY ones in the waiting room. It took 1-1/2 hours to be seen by a triage nurse, 1 hour to be escorted to an ER room, 1 hour to be seen by a nurse (never seen by an MD), and 2 hours for a different nurse to wander distractedly into the room with discharge/followup instructions. Urinalysis has been obtained today suggesting 50 to 100 WBCs, RBCs, many bacteria, with a WBC of 6.9, hemoglobin 14.3, positive nitrites and moderate leukoesterase in his urine. First, I cannot find leukoesterase in any dictionary and believe he must mean leukocyte esterase. Can I change it?
