How much does TTS pay on eScription? - Both for IC and employee?

Thanks in advance for any information.

TTS Pay - CMT/MT 30 years

[ In Reply To ..]
About 3.72 cents per editing line and .077 cpl for straight typing, but that was for CMT on night shift...not very good, is it? The training was so rigid and CB graded each report, even the first one, like a QA review, taking points off. I have never been so upset with training before and I have worked at home for almost 15 years and worked for a lot of the big companies. The trainer was nice, but enjoyed telling me each mistake I made, especially if she took off 3 points for a drug error! There were a couple of small errors in the drug/dosing line where it warranted a typo in the sentence, but she took off 3 points instead of .25 for a typo that did not change the context of the drug or dose...i.e. "Take 2 pillss at bedtime." My new account had 21 pages of instructions that were not organized with alphabetical headings like most places. I was on escription and the 3rd night she left me alone and I enjoyed the work until several hours later. Boom! She was watching me in the background and again jumped down my throat, happily telling me about each error on the phone, as that is how she liked to do it. Everything else about the company was great and the people were nice. They have a ton of paperwork for recruiter and office staff, but this lady never encouraged me. We all make mistakes in the first 3 days. I expressed this in an email to the MT support staff and said I was done and quit. The trainer didn't get it and continued to harass me the next day with the last feedback and saying we needed a phone call...oh, I don't think so!" If you give it a try, maybe you will fare better. The company is well organized otherwise and I was sad to have this happen. I don't take quitting lightly, but you never know what you will get yourself into.

CMT/MT 30 years-read my post about being blackballed by TTS... - blackballed MT

[ In Reply To ..]
you better check your resume because if you left without notice after 3 days they will blackball you if you even put them down as having worked there at all. Listen, these applications on-line now days require you to give them sooooo much information about previous employers, address, phone number, super name, etc. that be aware they call them EVEN if you don't use them as a reference and simply list them on your resume and most of the time you won't even know it unless you get an opportunity (rarely) to actually ask someone why they didn't hire you, and LO AND BEHOLD-TTS NAME COMES UP-SURPRISE SURPRISE.

Previous employment - Long time MT-NY

[ In Reply To ..]
I never put the companies I worked for on my resume. I put self-employed for 22 years.

Long-time MT-NY-This is very interesting, so just put self-employed - BlackballedMT
[ In Reply To ..]
so just put "self-employed" in work experience and then give them the references you want them to contact I assume. In many ways, we are self-employed even if we are not IC. We all really just contract work from the MTSOs, it is just a matter of whether they call us an "employee" and take out taxes, or IC and don't.

By doing it this way, you can still claim pertinent experience - 5 yrs. with a company is a long time to waste if they decide to blackball you because you didn't accept a position they asked you to.

I will consider this as an alternative. I think in this way at least somebody can't go behind your back before you can even get an email/phone call based on your experience about a job.

Thank you for the suggestion!
Not smart to leave off employers - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
My two cents? Not a good idea to leave off employers and try to get by with "self-employed." This only works if you truly owned your own company and picked up your own accounts. Otherwise you'll come across as sketchy/hiding something. They'll just ask you if any of that time was with services anyway (they want to make sure you know what working for a service is like).
Contrary to popular belief on this thread, no company called for a reference is EVER going to give more than dates of employment. They're not going to bad mouth any former employee. It's just not worth the risk.
Ahhhh, TTS did bad mouth me because - BlackballedMT

she told me what was said and there is no way she would have know that other than through TTS. Furthermore, I later ended up transcribing on the same account TTS had for another company and when the employer called for a password, they were told that TTS said I had QA issues on the account and therefore was taken off the account, which I did QA on and never even transcribed on -so YES THEY DO TELL MORE THAN DATES OF EMPLOYMENT, INCLUDING LIES!

Is this platform good/bad/indifferent.  I have used ExSpeech which was a horrible platform.  Just wondering what is an average line count/hour that you can get on this platform.  I know there are a lot of variables, but a "ball park" idea would be great!   Thanks, ...

TTS Escription
Jan 25, 2015

For a company with technology in its name, I find this platform sorely lacking. Constantly having to correct capitals I don't want when I take out a period, it not putting a macro over what I want to change and all this backing up and retyping to change stuff or get a macro to work where I want it is driving me crazy (I know, short trip) and wasting a lot of time.   Don't they have any engineers or programmers who can get around this?  Guess I just got spoiled at Precyse; mac ...

Escription V11 Help
Mar 05, 2015

Anyone on this platform, please tell me it gets better. I spent 2-1/2 hours and got absolutely nothing done. Demographics locked up completely and I had to X out, sending the work back to pool. Tried to upload, but kept telling me to confirm demographics which I did, then demographics header grayed out completely, then tried to upload, and again message to confirm demographics, which had been confirmed and were now locked up and grayed out. The entire platform seems just plain overwhelming wit ...

New To VR/EditScript/Escription
Oct 25, 2009

After 40 years on the job and getting tired of typing, when out of a job this last time (there have been so many times of late because of ...well most of you already know how goes it with our profession), I decided to just go for what seems to be taking over transcription anyway.  Thanks to this board and all the talk about the different platforms, I took a job with a company that uses EditScript, and I am thrilled.  In those 40 years, I have had to do a lot of proofreading as a super ...

Turning Off EScription's Red Box
Nov 05, 2009

Is there a way to turn this box off? Our system is not well trained yet so there is a lot of editing required. The alt-K combination is awkward for me when having to stop every few words to correct something. I edit by forwarding my cursor through the document (like the red box does) but then there is no extra work in bringing the cursor forward to where the edit needs to made as it is already there. Thanks for the input! ...

I'm Back With More ?? For Escription
Nov 12, 2009

I have now been doing EditScript for a month now and my lines are still horrific. I've read the manual over and over and still have the below questions. I'm only doing 1/4 of what I used to do and it hurts. 1.  I have to minimize and maximize my screen to see more than 10-14 lines. Anyone else have this problem? I think it has something to do with the header because if I change something in the header, I have to minimize and maximize again. 2.  I follow the red bo ...

I currently work at Focus Infomatics in the NetCare platform doing regular MT and VR work.  I just got switched over to working QC on their eScription platform, which I'm really excited about.  I did one training course for it (to start out in regular MT, but will have to do another training course for QC after I get used to everying on the platform) but I haven't started yet.  The one training course really made it seem easy to learn and much mo ...

Question On Escription
Aug 24, 2010

Hi, I am curious to find out everyone's opinion on the Escription platform as far as production, ease of use, etc.  I have been offered a position and would be using Escription on a mostly speech rec account at .05 cpl, along with incentives.  Is that a good rate for Escription?  I have heard it's the best platform and would like to know what people typically average on their lines per hour, along with how long the learning curve typically is.  Thanks for any info y ...

Anyone Work On EScription - Sm
Oct 16, 2010

I need to know if eScription has the capability to "monitor" your work habits.  Meaning, does it log you off after a certain amount of time of not working?    Does this sound like it is eScription or something else?   Production time is tracked off the technology system and monitors the time you are actually in the document working (hands on the keyboard or foot on the pedal).  If you are idle in excess of 4 minutes the time stops tracking.  You must remain acti ...
