I work from home for my local hospital as a full-time MT and get paid hourly. They have decided to bring all their transcriptionists back in-house (but still working from home) and do away with the service they use. I am currently the only one working directly for the hospital, but they want to hire 10 more people. They are asking me what the pay should be for the day shift and night shift MTs. I have 15 years of experience and make $16 an hour. I really don't know if this is a good wage or not and am seeking opinions from all of you. What do you think a good rate of pay would be for both day and night shifts?
